Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from November 1st to be allowed into the E.U. Valid unitl June 1, 2026 to be safe!
No VISA is required for U.S Citizens.
Uber operates in France. Lyft does not. We usually take a taxi from the airport to the city on arrival as a taxi has a set rate to the city that is usually less than Uber. We usually take Uber from the city to the airport as an Uber from the city to the airport is usually less expensive and easier.
Best way to get cash: ATM withdrawl. Visa and Mastercard taken everywhere, AMEX is usually not accepted.
The metro is safe and easy to use. Around $3 per ride. Maps of the metro lines superimposed on the map are located in every metro station allowing you to easily figure out where you are going. Taxis around the city are everywhere. There is a metro station a block from the hotels listed in the Hotels section.
Most of the major sights sell advanced tickets online.
If you have the time, consider visiting another country in Europe as part of the trip! There are many budget airlines that fly to Paris and it often costs less than $100 to fly non stop one way to some pretty awesome destinations, including Santorini and multiple cities in Italy, Spain, and Germany. There are also similarly priced, less than $100, direct flights to Marrakech, Athens, Madiera, Prague, Istanbul, Lisbon, Sicily, Cypress, Croatia, London, Slovenia, Austria, and Ireland. Somewhere for everyone!
